Create A Platform of An Affymetrix Gene Chip
0:00 Downlaod the annotation file in CSV format from Affymetrix web site.
0:30 Change extension from ".csv" to ".txt"
0:45 Open it with Excel as keeping gene symbols, and save it as a tab-delimited text file.
1:20 Import the text file to create a platform.
1:50 Select gene symbol column.
2:00 Download location information of probe sets from UCSC Genome Browser site.
2:30 Modify the file to have probe set IDs solely.
2:45 Open "Edit Platform" window and clean it up.
3:20 Import the location information from the file with "Look Up" tool.
4:10 Fill the reserved columns for location information by copy & paste.
4:25 Clean the table and save the modifications.
